Dr. Bridges is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and completed his Radiation Oncology Residency training at the National Cancer Institute, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and the National Naval Medical Center - Bethesda.
He served on Active duty in the U.S Navy for 28 years. During his last 6 years of military service, he served as Medical Director/Department Head of the Radiation Oncology Department of what is now the Walter Reed National Medical Center. He also served as the Radiation Oncology adviser to Surgeons General of the Navy and on the FDA Advisor panel for radiation oncology drugs.
Although he treats all types of cancer, his areas of focused interest have been Genitourinary Cancers (particularly prostate) and Lymphomas. He has been involved in multiple clinical trials.
Over his career, he has participated in the treatment of over 4000 prostate cancer patients and has conducted over 1500 radioactive seed implants of the prostate gland. He was selected as "Top Doc" for several years in the Washington Magazine.
